Lanes, order and documents

Before you ask

Do you sell to the public?

No. Harbourline supplies businesses: restaurants, caterers, grocers, distributors and food manufacturers. Retail customers find the products through the grocers we supply.

Can I order less than a pallet?

Sample cases, yes, by courier. Regular orders below a pallet go through your broadline or specialty distributor; we supply them and you keep one delivery. The minimum for a direct order is one mixed pallet.

Is stock held in Vancouver, or does everything come by container?

Both. The catalogue lines are held in Vancouver and ship within three to five days. Container-direct orders of ten pallets or more are booked with the producer and take eight to ten weeks.

Which currency and terms apply?

Canadian buyers are invoiced in Canadian dollars, delivered to the dock, GST applied. US buyers are quoted in US dollars, delivered at place or collected from Vancouver, with duties and entry through their broker.

3.1How an order runs

  1. Request a price list

Tell us your buyer type, the products you want, a rough volume and the delivery city. We reply with the current wholesale list and the spec sheets for those SKUs.

  2. Sample and specification

Sample cases ship by courier. Every SKU carries a specification sheet: grade, origin, pack and case, lot coding, shelf life, storage and the HS heading declared.

  3. Confirm quantities and lane

Minimum order is set per SKU. We build mixed pallets across categories. Canadian buyers take delivery at their dock; US buyers choose delivered-at-place or pickup from Vancouver.

  4. Ship and clear

We issue the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading, add a certificate of origin where the trade agreement calls for it, and send your broker the product data for CFIA or FDA filings.

We do not hold CFIA or FDA registrations on a buyer's behalf. We prepare the product documentation and your broker files it. The guide to importing olive oil into Canada walks through each document.
